Want to improve your guitar and songwriting skills? I’m really excited to announce this new programme and would love for you to join in!
Hope I can answer here below on any questions you might have about the group:
Who is it for?
It’s for guitar players who want to learn effective ways to write original music, get better at guitar playing, gain musical knowledge, and improve their creativity and expressiveness.
What’s the goal of this group?
The goal is for you to complete at least one song you’ll feel proud of, and along the way, learn about songwriting, improve your guitar playing, and have fun making music and meeting like-minded aspiring musicians!
What will the sessions be about?
What won’t be covered in the lessons?
I teach you all the necessary methods to create original music on your guitar, including melodies you can then add lyrics to. But writing lyrics is not my area of expertise, so I won’t be teaching it. Nevertheless, I have written and released songs with lyrics and can offer my advice and feedback. Besides, my approach is that a voice is like an instrument and lyrics are part of it. For example, the singer of Sigur Ros (one of my favourite bands) sings in gibberish and his words mean nothing, although he sings them very passionately…
How long is it and when?
It’ll be a whole winter term, which is 3 months, between 6 January – 31st March 2023. There are 12 weeks in total and a half-term break in February.
What’s the schedule for every week?
– Weekly 45-60-minute live group sessions.
– Supporting materials with all the necessary information and exercises (texts, diagrams, TAB…).
– A dedicated WhatsApp group for ongoing interaction in-between sessions.
– Weekly 1-on-1 15-minute sessions with me.
What if I can’t make it to the live group sessions?
To get the most out of this opportunity, I recommend you attend every session so you can ask questions, participate, comment and enjoy it. However, if you have to miss a session, you can catch up and watch the recordings of all sessions on the platform (read ahead about it).
Where will it be?
The sessions will be held in my online studio. It’s an app that was developed specifically for music lessons, so the audio there is great (much better than zoom). We can hang out there next week if you’d like to have a chat so you can experience it for yourself. To get access, you just need to signup (takes 30 seconds) by following these steps, and then we can schedule a suitable time to meet:
1) Go to: https://www.muzie.studio/signup
2) Click “Signup as Student”.
3) Enter your details, the instructor code “UDIGUITAR” at the bottom, and then click “Join Now”.
