I’m Udi Glaser - a London-based guitarist, composer and teacher. Lessons are online, so we can work together wherever you are in London (or anywhere in the world). Whether you’re a complete beginner or heading for a diploma or a gig, I’ll help you play well and create music that’s your own.
You’ve probably reached this page because you searched for a guitar teacher in London. Great - because that’s exactly what I am. I’ve been teaching since 2002, with wide experience across schools, private and group lessons, and my students range from complete beginners to advanced players working towards diplomas, gigs and concerts.
I’m a registered guitar tutor with RGT@LCM - the Registry of Guitar Tutors at the London College of Music. I teach all styles, all guitars and all levels. Over the years I’ve also had great fun teaching a few well-known names in London, and was featured as guitar teacher of the week on mgrmusic.com.
A lifelong musical journey
I picked up a guitar in 1991, so I’ve been playing for quite some time. Back then I had some wonderful teachers who inspired me - one of them, Gilad Benamram, is now a film composer in Hollywood. That’s why I’m so passionate about inspiring others to play and, above all, to create their own music.
I’ve performed with bands and ensembles, worked as a session player and recording artist, and never stopped studying. I hold a BA in Musicology & Philosophy, a Diploma in Sound Control, and a Certificate in Orchestrating & Producing Music for Film and Games - for which I was granted a scholarship in the name of Jeff Beck. I also completed an MA in Music Psychology (Distinction), where I researched music creativity.
What we’ll work on
In my lessons I cover a wide range of styles and genres - classical, pop, rock, metal, blues, Spanish, ethnic and world music and more. I teach the essentials every guitarist should know: correct technique in both hands, sight reading, TAB, and music theory (which I like to keep very practical). But my real passion is creativity, so I especially love teaching improvisation and composition on the guitar.
Online lessons, with a London heart
I’m based in London and teach online, which means we can work together wherever you are in the city - Crouch End, Highgate, or the other side of town - as well as further afield. I already teach students from California to Singapore over video, and I’d love to help more fellow Londoners find their sound. Every lesson is tailored to you: your level, your taste and your goals.

Do you take complete beginners?
Yes, and I love to. With a beginner I can teach the right technique from the start, without having to undo old habits later.
What’s your method of teaching?
I build a custom programme around your goals and needs - even if your goal is simply to play a bit and enjoy it. I keep theory practical and always encourage you to create music of your own.
What styles and genres do you teach?
Almost anything - from classical grade-exam preparation, through acoustic singer-songwriter styles, to electric guitar shredding.
What do I need for online lessons?
Your guitar, yourself, something to take notes with, and a phone, tablet or computer with a camera for our video call.
What’s expected of me as a student?
Practice - ideally at least 20 minutes a day. Progress comes from consistent practice between lessons; there’s no shortcut (yet!).
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes. I ask for 24 hours’ notice. Lessons cancelled with less notice are charged in full, except in genuine emergencies.
